Our Mission & Vision

AVAS champions for the renewed heart and mind of every student

We are a Christ-centered, multi-grade, small school and proud of it! Our primary focus is instilling the love of God and Christian values within our students. With Christ at the center, we believe students will excel academically, socially, and emotionally. We offer low student-teacher ratios with well-founded research and curriculum to support the benefits of a multi-grade approach.

Spiritual Statement

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” –Proverbs 22:6

AVAS desires its students to follow Christ's example as they grow in wisdom and stature (Luke 2:52), so that they may align their lives to God's will. We love for our teachers and students to spend the first moments of the school day with God in prayer and the study of His word. We encourage daily praise through music, self-reflection, and meaningful discussion. It is also our wish that students' time at AVAS prepares them for a life of humility and service.

Mission

It is the Mission of AVAS to glorify God as an institution, and to foster genuine, personal, and meaningful relationships between students and their Savior. In honoring Christ, students will naturally gain respect and tolerance for others and an accountability for one’s speech, thoughts, and actions.

Vision

At AVAS, our Vision is of a safe and loving learning environment, rooted in Christ, where students feel at home with their teachers and their peers. We desire for each child to maintain a growth-mindset, develop a curiosity for learning, and aim for excellence in academics.

More About
Seventh-Day Adventists

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a mainstream Protestant church with approximately 19 million members worldwide, including more than one million members in North America. The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to enhance quality of life for people everywhere and to let people know that Jesus is coming again soon.

Adventists believe a Trinity of three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—make up one God. They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father's will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone.
When He returned to heaven following the resurrection, Jesus left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor. He promised to return to earth a second time to complete His plan of salvation and take His people to heaven. Adventists are among the believers who look forward to that day.

Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything—the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.
